The Jennings Northwest Regional Utilities board of directors will meet Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m. to disclose more details on a proposed $3.8 million project to improve the utility's wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system.
The public session will be held in the Country Squire Lakes Community Building, also known as the clubhouse.
The meeting will be to review preliminary engineering reports from Commonwealth Engineers on the two main aspects of the project.
JNRU board president Ed Whitaker said the project would be funded by federal stimulus money through the state.
"We got on the list (for funds) early because we have been telling the state for years how urgently our treatment plant needs to be fixed and also that we can't afford any more debt," he said.
The public meeting will be preceded by an executive session at 6:30 p.m.
